Materials
Student drawings and photographs, ebony or conte crayon, kneaded erasers, masking tape
Students will finish their drawings.
Post drawings at the front of the room. During a class critique, ask students to select and discuss drawings that display:
- the use of contrast to create drama
- an unusual angle or perspective
- a figure that emerges from its setting
- the use of gradation to make objects look three-dimensional
- deep space
- the use of value to create mood
Write a paragrah explaining what you found the most challenging about doing this drawing and what you did to meet those challenges.
Discuss one student work you admired and explain why you chose it.
